1. What the Guide provides

The Reference Guide is a browser-based resource containing practical welding guidance, technical references and engineering tools. Your selected plan determines access and the number of authorised users. Your Reference Guide subscription includes continuing updates and new Guide tools as they become available, at no additional charge. Planned tools are not yet available; their release dates will be announced separately. AVR, WQM and MRB are separate applications; a description marked “Coming soon” or “In development” is not a promise of current access or inclusion in your Guide subscription.

The Guide requires an internet connection and a compatible web browser. You need a IMS account and an active entitlement for protected content. Offline access to protected account pages is not provided.

2. Engineering responsibility

The Guide supports professional judgement. It does not replace applicable codes, standards, client specifications, approved procedures, competent-person assessment or project-specific verification. Check the relevant edition and suitability of information and calculations before using them for engineering decisions. Guide access does not confer welding qualification, certification or approval.

3. Accounts and permitted use

Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. Individual access is for one named user; team access is for the authorised users covered by the plan. Do not share credentials, bypass access controls, interfere with the service, scrape the content or redistribute the Guide commercially. You may use information and permitted outputs for your own professional work, subject to applicable third-party rights.

4. Plans, billing and renewal

Reference Guide prices include UK VAT: Individual Monthly £14.99 per month; Individual Annual £149.99 per year; Team 5 £59.99 per month; and Team 10 £99.99 per month. Enterprise arrangements are quoted separately. Online subscriptions are initially available to customers based in the United Kingdom only.

Monthly plans renew automatically each month. The annual plan renews automatically each year. Before payment, checkout will show the selected plan, total price, billing interval and renewal arrangements. Card details and payments are handled by Stripe. Your order confirmation will provide the subscription details in a form you can retain.

Your subscription and paid Guide access begin when payment is confirmed. We will email your order confirmation with the accepted Terms and subscription details. Only the workspace owner may purchase or manage the workspace’s subscription. Team prices cover up to five or ten named users respectively; credentials must not be shared.

5. Cancellation and refunds

No cancellation or refund administration fees. You can stop future renewals at any time through My Account → Subscription → Stripe subscription management. If you cannot use that route, email contact@weldeng.co.uk with a clear cancellation request and your account email. Cancel before the next renewal to avoid the next charge.

For ordinary cancellation of future renewals, access continues until the end of your confirmed paid period. After that period ends, the subscription will not renew and paid Guide access ends.

First-purchase refund policy: you may request a full refund within 14 days after your first Reference Guide subscription purchase, even if you have used the Guide. This offer applies to monthly, annual and team Guide plans. A refund under this policy ends the refunded subscription and its paid Guide access. We will return the payment to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the request, without an administration fee or deduction for payment-processing costs.

After this first-purchase period, ordinary cancellation does not normally provide a refund for unused time in the current paid period. This does not limit statutory cancellation rights, rights concerning faulty or misdescribed services or digital content, or any other refund entitlement under applicable law. Accepting these terms does not itself waive statutory rights.

Cancellation form: you may email contact@weldeng.co.uk stating “I wish to cancel my IMS Reference Guide subscription”, with your name, account email, subscription purchase date and the date of your request. You may also use any other clear statement of cancellation; this wording is optional.

6. Availability and changes

The service may require maintenance, updates or temporary interruptions. Material changes affecting a paid subscription will be communicated in advance where practicable, with any cancellation or refund rights required by law. We will not use changes to remove rights already owed to you.

7. Content and intellectual property

IMS content, artwork, software and branding are protected by intellectual-property rights. Subscription access grants permission to use the service within the agreed plan; it does not transfer ownership. Standards and other third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights.

8. Supply Chain listings

Directory listings help users find organisations. Listing does not constitute endorsement, accreditation or a guarantee of competence, availability or suitability. Check an organisation’s qualifications, scope and commercial terms independently. Any agreement with a listed organisation is separate from your Guide subscription.

9. Privacy and communications

Our Privacy Notice explains personal-data processing and your rights. Accepting these terms does not mean consenting to optional marketing. Essential account and subscription communications are separate from marketing preferences.

10. Suspension and responsibility

Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to address security threats, unlawful use or a material breach. Where appropriate, we will explain the issue and allow an opportunity to resolve it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or limits statutory consumer rights.

11. Questions, complaints and applicable law

For questions or complaints, email contact@weldeng.co.uk. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not remove mandatory protections applicable where you live. You may bring proceedings in the courts of the UK country where you live. Business-customer disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
